I have 2 daughters, ages 24 and 20, both successful graduates of the Arlington Public Schools. I now look to the experiences of friends and community members to give me on-the-spot information about how our schools are working for their children and families. Although I ended up staying home with my children, I was trained as a physician and scientist and have strong analytical credentials including a BS from MIT. Our family came to Arlington looking for a kid-loving and active town. We fell in love with the tight-knit community, urban-style accessibility and strong schools.
In addition to School Committee, I have been a member of the Arlington High School Building Committee for the past ten years, working to rebuild the High School. I also serve as a School Committee representative to the Long Range Plan Committee, and have been a Town Meeting member for 7 years. |
